Went for the first service today. It is already one year. Because of reduced driving due to some virus doing the rounds, I only clocked up 8100km in the 12 months.

I see NTT Nissan use Castrol GTX Diesel oil. It is a 15W-40 with a CI-4 rating. Should be fine.

This was the first time in 27 years that I had a vehicle serviced by someone else other than myself.

I must say the NP300 looks much better with the 6 spoke wheels than those 4 spoke numbers.
I don't really want more lift, I just want to eliminate the nose dive. I measured and the front is currently 20m lower than the back , so if the Camil lifts it 30mm in the front I can dial down the torsion bars and level it out.

I have noticed on some dune climbs that the nose really dips when you take the foot of the dune and that bleeds off a lot of your momentum. I dont have Uncle Grips 500 NM plus V8 , I need my momentum.

I think you should compare the properties of that oil against something decent like Chevron Delo or Shell Rotella. CI is an old rating and most oils are on CK-4 already.

I won't ever use GTX in any vehicle again.

Jip. Oil is not that expensive. Maybe I should just drain it out an fill with something decent.

Found a 5L Caltex MGX in my archives.

Drained the GTX and filled with the Delo.

It was a good engine flush exercise.

Castrol CRB is also on CK-4.

Jakes what is your view on Castrol Ultra clean.

Specifications: API SN/CF, ACEA A3/B3. Using this spec it matches Shell HX5.

SN is a good rating for petrol engines but the CF not so good for diesel. According to the API people it is obsolete.

I did the Camil upgrade in the front and installed Monroe Magnum shocks with a bit more travel in the back and played around with it a bit.

The result is a big improvement, the nosedive disapeared and I dont seem to have lost any articulation, at least as far as I can make out.

I drove through some obstacles and then stopped a crossover to look at it closer up.

Nice video. You covered everything needed to know about the front.

Good to see that it still touches the bumpstops in both extremes.

    Enjoy those Camils.

    .

Brandstofverbruik?
