Default Hilux GD6 2.4 AT Tyre profile

    Good day members
1.Is it advisable to put BF AT 265/70/17 tyres on a 2.4 AT Hilux .The standard profile is 65.I am worried that the higher profile will interfere with AT box.
2.Do the 2.4 enjin have sufficient power for the 70 profile tyres? The vehicle will be used for overland trips ( no towing) but fully loaded

    Thanks.

I noticed a power drop on my V6 prado from 65-70 profile tyres, next set will be 65's again.

I have put 70s on my 2.8 AT Hilux and not noticed anything strange, much better in the sand and driving Offroad. You don’t have any issues with 70s and diff ratios and drive shaft angles etc. Only issue you will have if you don’t have a suspension fitted is some rubbing on front mud flap. Also your Speedo will under read slightly.
