Default JHB Getaway show Oct 2019

    Anybody been to the show?

Feedback? Contemplating to head over to the Dome and have a look but dont want to waste my money.

I would like to get some ideas of new camping places as first need and maybe check out new gadgets and tools as a second.
I have most camping stuff already sorted so not much need to look at trailers and caravans or tents.

Default JHB Getaway show Oct 2019

Overall impression: great show, poorly attended. I fear for the future of outdoor shows.

I canít see how an exhibitor can justify the codt

Not too many people today. Some brands are not attending this year. Got some nice toys

I was there earlier and got myself one or two things. Was chatting to one of the exhibitioners and they said this yearís event was way down on numbers from previous years and that they blame the organizers..... not quite sure what that means but yes, I noticed a severe drop in numbers too.

I was there yesterday (Saturday) when the doors opened at 9. Left at around 11 which should be very busy. It was quiet overall. We still enjoyed the show.

Only gripe is some of the exhibitors being a bit pushy when you walk by their stalls.

Yep same thing today. very poorly attended.

Some twat doing pizzas, which i declined to taste, told me his pizzas were more nutritious and healthy than the energade i was drinking.

i agree, the future of the outdoor show is limited. I wont do the Getaway again.

Quite enjoyed it, though was surprised not much off-road stuff on display/offer beside the odd bullbar and spotlights. I think for those that loves caravans would have had a bit to look at.

CATS do yourself a favour and visit Tenco showroom in Jet Park next to the N12/R21 intersection.

Everything in camping equipment is available there.

Much better than any outdoor show ever!.

    Cheers

I was considering going. I looked at the exhibitor list, however, it seemed limited. I therefore decided to rather wait for the Beeld Outdoor Show next year in February, as it's closer to me and has more exhibitors projected. From past experience, it's normally well attended.

Do they still charge entry fee ?
If free entry frightens exhibitors for some obvious reasons, let customers print tickets online ?
There is no task too simple for some people to complicate !
