A little off topic, but I am interested to know why ammo box are not the best solution? I just changed for it and I like the idea to move in and out the boxes even in the trailer.

Go to the Metalian Maxi Superthread and you will find many photos of the setup. The idea is rather to have compartmentalized shelving to store your goods or drawers that are low enough to reach into.

That way you donít have to sukkel with the stupid lids, lift heavy boxes up and down into the trailer etc. those clips on the lids always break.

In summary, you want to be able to stand in front of the trailer to be able to access your clothes, food and common items by reaching into it, rather than removing a box, opening the lid, having to place the lid somewhere and reverse the process again to put the stuff back.

The only benefit of an Ammo box is if you donít have a trailer or a drawer system in your car, then they are an option.

International container sizes are derivatives of 600 x 400mm, so you'll find many containers at Mambos, Plastic Warehouse, etc.. in this format. An ammo box is 400 x 550 (nominal), and with thick sidewalls, you loose a fair amount of space.

We have drawers and these are designed to take containers 600 x 400, 400 x 300, 300 x 200. Many clients also make up bags.

I just saw the email with the latest list of accessories that will be included for free. A lot of people are going to kick themselves that they did not bid on the trailer if they see it!

    I consider myself a blessed/lucky man.

Some feedback please on these nosecone ideas. In order of simplicity and cost, the first three are all in 1.5 mm aluminium tread-plate. The first being a simple tapered nose, the second and third are the same base size, but with an alternative lid that allows access to a NL 60l fridge freezer. The 4th one is in 3CR12 and will jump in price, this has a dedicated gas compartment compliant with internal regulation, top lid and opposite side door for geyser.

A final nose will drawn up to take a slide out fridge, no top lid nor opposite door. Again for the 60l NL fridge freezer.

I think this will just about close the options for the Genie.

I think the simple tapered nose would work for me and suits the trailer size. I'm not sure I want to add too much nose weight.

Those look great. I really wanted a fridge slide nosecone, but my budget dictate I go for number 3, drop in fridge nosecone. I am already slightly over budget.

Likewise, want to keep the weight off the front if I can. Would be nice to have a safe place to stow the gas bottle though. All cost dependent I guess.

How would access be to the fridge on the slide at the rear door, if one wanted to place it over the axle in transit?

My heart wants 4, but my head says 3. But agree with the "safe place to store gas" part.

I will be opting for option 5(Slide out fridge) as the plan is to mount a RRT on the trailer and it will have some overhang on the front and back which might restrict the opening of a top loading nose cone. Thanks for all the designs Heinz

Hi Heinz. Option 5 with slide out fridge. In case of overhang on top rack.

    Thanks

Anyone else planning on mounting a RTT on the Genie? What brands/type are you looking at?
