    Default Isuzu KB 250 DTec - 85KW 280Nm

    2010 250 with 120 000kms on the clock

100% stock standard. Driving this vehicle is, to say the least, frustrating. When cold it is difficult to pull away without waiting for the motor to pick up rpm's. At operating temp a bit better but very slow to respond and "spool up" turbo to deliver power.
Looking for suggestions to make driving the Suz more pleasant? Due to budget constraints, please suggest options in order of "making the biggest" difference. Would like to do "upgrades" in stages if possible?

    HI Goldi
Have you done any mods? What results did you get?

    1. Clean EGR and throttle body, you won't believe how grimed up they can get. Can blank off EGR as well if you wish.

    2. Decat and bigger downpipe best mod i've done to my bakkie so far, better consumption and a slight increase in power with the turbo spooling up faster.

    3. 63mm or 76mm downpipe

    4. Remap

You will be seriously surprised how much power these motors can actually produce and all these mods will not have negative effect on reliabilty or engine life. After all these mods your vehicle should easily be around the 120-130kw mark.

Had mine chipped and it made a decent difference. Tried the free flow the decat and the egr blank and still waiting for the surge in performance and fuel savings.

If you looking for a long lifespan of your motor I personally would not go chip route on these vehicles. Chips cause overfueling, high EGT's and put strain on your motor.

    Morning fella's

I had my motor overhauled about 2500 km's ago.....I still drive it like an old man....soft / sparingly to let the motor properly run inn...
After how many km's should I opt for these "upgrades / improvements" ?

    4. Remap
