Default Rover 3.5 V8 firing order and distributor wiring

    Hi All,

I am battling to get my 3.5 v8 to run properly. It's idling pretty rough and it is backfiring/popping through the intake and exhaust.

Could anyone please help me with the firing order and correct wiring of the distributor for this motor?

    Thanks in advance.

    Brad

Thee engines are sensitive to tracking, so try to get the routing of the leads as per the diagram to avoid issues if the leads are not 100% good. You can do a quick check by starting and running the engine in a closed garage or after dark where tracking will be easily visible.

Just to add, it could also be your distributor and/or carbs playing up and giving you rough running.

Or it could be the cam..........they do tend to eat cams if run on newer oils without zinc additives.
