Not a model on the SA market.
The 4.8 was the GU Y61 and mostly automatic.

Do you have more on the specs?

If it is a 4.8 manual in Station wagon format it would be a pearl.

There is a few manual 4.8's around. (not as many as the auto's..)

If you can live with the fuel consumption, the best value for money "real 4x4" around... Patrols are over engineered and are underrated in SA.

If I could afford the fuel bill, I would buy one of these beast in a heart beat..

Also look for info here: patrol4x4.co.za

I don't know anything about Patrols but I see the GL in manual being advertised as the P63 on more than one site in SA.

I donít know what the p63 is, and a quick google hasnít helped me either. Could just be a misinformed salesman.

Anyway, you canít go wrong with a patrol. Especially a 4.8.

As has been mentioned, there arenít a lot of manuals floating around, from what I can work out, the manuals have a lower spec level in terms of bells and whistles.

Go test drive this one, but then test an auto as well. I love my auto, itís so nice and relaxing to drive.

I have one what would you like to know, it will be a 2005 model (it was the only year they where sold here in SA) they also only sold them in the GL spec not the GRX. Welcome to give me a ring if you want 083 661 4684. PS they are rare and do not come up for sale often!

Think the 4.8 manual is the cherry ontop.

The 4.8 auto is hampered by its outo box in serious sand driving. The bad is you cannot keep it or hold a gear. Tronics overide you choice
It is not what you buy its what you build.

    I have a 2005 4.8 GL and won't trade it for anything.
By far the best vehicle I've owned. We call it the Trol.

Very basic. Zero electronics. Which is mainly why I love it.

I just returned from a vacation in the Western Cape, a 3500km round trip.
    Average fuel consumption was 17L/100km.
5 people, fully loaded, two 5m sea kayaks on the roof. 33" mud terrain tires. Steel bumper with winch. Driving 120km/h.
I believe the manual is lighter on fuel than the auto.

Was in Moz in July and nothing came close to it's offroad ability.

    Cheers
