    Default Uneven height

    Hi everyone,

Recently bought a secondhand Pajero Sport. Couple weeks ago I had Ironman shocks and coils fitted.

Now thought I might be imagining it, but it always seemed the left was a little lower than the right. So tonight parked it in the garage to make sure it was level and measured. And sure enough, left side is close to 30mm lower than the right. What gives?

Best is take it back to the fitment centre.

They should have measured and made sure before handing the PS over to you.

This is exactly what the fitment centre did when I had my Ford Explorer lifted way back when. I had to stand with them when they took the measurments.

Looks like they may have fitted non matching springs.

    Good luck.

On some vehicles the left and right springs aren't of the same strength, either on one axle or on both. It's meant to counter any weight imbalances, e.g. if gearbox, transfer case or propshafts are not positioned in the vehicle's centre.
On some individual vehicles this doesn't work out. My Cruiser was also hanging to one side by 35 mm or so after fitting an OME suspension. I had the rear springs swapped left to right, sorted.

So I think I got to the bottom of this today... Was having a look under the PS and decided to have a closer look at the coils...

So the one on the driver side is marked n/s and the one on the passenger side is marked d/s

    Really?!?

A better way of measuring is to take the measurement from the bottom of the rim edge to the wheel arch, this negates any tyre inflation variances.
