    Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooood Morning

Its a Friyay with a difference

Its a day where we celebrate our cultural heritage. There are two types of culture, one being the collective achievement in arts and technology and the other being the ideas, customs and social behaviour of a particular people and society. The former often stems from the latter.

Be proud of your heritage and culture. It gives you roots.

Make the day greaterer, tan a tjoppie

    Cheers

In absence of Hedge's usual Friday toast lyrics, and in anticipation of a good rain season, here is a little pick-me-up song for a Friday:

    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
I love to hear the thunder,
Watch the lightnin' when it lights up the skies.
You know it makes me feel good.
    I love a rainy night,
    It's such a beautiful sight.
I love to feel the rain on my face,
Taste the rain on my lips,
    In the moonlight shadow.
Showers wash all of my cares away.
I wake up to a sunny day...
'Cause I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
I love to hear the thunder,
Watch the lightnin' when it lights up the skies.
You know it makes me feel good.
    I love a rainy night,
    It's such a beautiful sight.
I love to feel the rain on my face,
Taste the rain on my lips,
    In the moonlight shinin'.
It puts a song in this heart of mine.
It puts a smile on my face every time...
'Cause I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
Showers wash all of my cares away.
I wake up to a sunny day...
'Cause I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night
(You see it in my eyes)
    I love a rainy night
    (Yeah, it makes me high)
    I love a rainy night
    (You know I do)
    I love a rainy night.
    I love a rainy night
(You see it in my eyes)
    I love a rainy night
    (Yeah, it makes me high)
    I love a rainy night
    (And I love you too)
    I love a rainy night.

Play it as loudly as you can!

    Gooooood Morning,

it is Friday, let's go go go..........

    Oh, wait.

It is heritage day, let us reflect on the on the heritage that got us to where we are today, and use our day wisely, to plan our future, based on that heritage.

I would wager that we, despite our different backgrounds, all desire similar things in our relationships : loving families, good friends and shared values.

Let us use today and the weekend to cement these things with all we hold dear.

As Spring finally arrives in Gauteng, the mood lightens, renewal is all around us in nature, and everything seems possible.

Use the renewal period to renew your commitment to making every day greater.

The greaterer is out there, we just need to go get it!

Have a great day and week, everyone.

Rainy season officially starts 17 October in Pretoria. Just 2 more weeks, with maybe an early shower or two if we are lucky.

There was a very dramatic thunder display by me last night without a drop falling after.

"17 October" is very specific :-).
Barberton is more lenient with its 1st rain rule by claiming it to happen "after Oom Paul's birthday". The Lowveld gets extremely hot and dry between now and Oom Paul's birthday, which makes that 1st thunderstorm something very special

    Snaaksies.

That is what the farmers planting guide lists. Official sources and all that. And that is usually when the rain starts so they are clearly not wrong... Yes, after Oom Paul's birthday, which by the way turns out to be on 1 October and not 10 October. It is the O of October that was misread, while we are on uselessly precise random factoids.
