Stealing Andrew's idea again, Queen's "Days of our lives".

    Have a GOOD one, Guys!

    Sometimes I get to feeling

I was back in the old days, long ago
    When we were kids
    When we were young
Things seemed so perfect, you know
    The days were endless
We were crazy, we were young

    The sun was always shining
    We just lived for fun
    Sometimes it seems like lately
    I just don't know
The rest of my life's been just a show

Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
    Those days are all gone
Now but one thing is true
When I look and I find I still love you

You can't turn back the clock
You can't turn back the tide
    Ain't that a shame?

Ooh, I'd like to go back one time
    On a roller coaster ride
When life was just a game
No use in sitting and thinking
    On what you did
    When you can lay back
And enjoy it through your kids

    Sometimes it seems like lately
    I just don't know
Better sit back and go with the flow

    Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooood Morning

And another excellent morning. I always find this time of year quite evocative, its mainly the lighting in the mornings and late afternoons. So I enjoy being outside at these times. The air is bracing. Its really wonderful to experience life and feeling alive. (most of my body feels alive at least )

Whatever you have to do today, make sure you dont miss out on feeling alive and living

Living. Sometimes it can be crap, but it easily beats the alternatives!

We can take pleasure from the smallest things, as pointed out by Sean, and, by sharing our joy in these things, we can enhance our and others lives.

    Truth that!

Every now and then one does get reminded. Thanks to 30 years of farming and therefore constantly being in the sun, plus being a dutchman and much to "manly" to use sissie things like sunblock, I've got skin cancer. Malignant carcinoma. Which means its localized and, provided it gets removed timeously it doesn't spread.

So today I'm on my way to get another bunch cut out. Been doing it for years. Every time it gets analyzed and every time the results come back as "localized". But I'm human - so every time there is doubt. So I know the next 2 weeks are going to suck. Both because I'm waiting for the results and because I'm going to be full of uncomfortable little zippers.

And then my daughter sends me the attached picture of her with "Thanks for always unexpectedly turning the world upside-down for me in a nice way".

And suddenly it is a greaterer day. Suddenly I realize what is really important. To laugh. To enjoy. To do the unexpected. To LIVE.

    Have a good one, Guys!

Good morning ( Even though, I have not gone to bed yet.)

I was musing about this thread and what we posted a year ago. We were just starting Lockdown level 5 Episode 2. As I browsed through posts of last year April, it was a different world. Many were bored others were catching up on projects. The future was very uncertain. Ciggies and dop was a serious discussion point.

Then there was also the little glimpses of our lives. This thread has made our lives richer and has added something.

Estee I have to mention your consistency on this thread and on the Covid data.

I have found that so many in my work and friendship circles, has come through the pandemic changed. Some who were brilliant before Covid is now a shadow of their former self.

I am sitting here looking at ways to motivate those who has lost motivation.

I will reiterate what has been drilled into us on this thread. You decide how your day will be.

    Lets make this Friday great!

    Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo od Morning

Hannes piped me to the post (pun intended) this morning

I have been fortunate, the major disruption of this here C19 dingus has been cancelled annual trips in 2020, mainly to Dullies and Notties but I have been fortunate in that respect also, as that has been the ebb and flow of my life for decades, allowing opportunity and circumstances to steer the course but................... never allowing them to change the goal or destination. And I think that mind set has made a difference. Each day has its own goal in the fabric of my life, and that is to have a great day. And as you know, just waking up already makes it a great day.

Some say I am lucky but I say, luck is when preparation meets opportunity. And to exploit opportunity requires flexibility, to know when to shift gears and when to coast, when to change direction and when to pause. But ever the goal in mind. Tomorrows plans become next years, next years become todays, they still happen, its a difference in timing and the flexibility to make it so but one thing does remain constant, no matter where I find myself doing whatever, its always a great day and my intent is to make it greaterer, for others and myself.

    Cheers

    Default A Toast

So, what is this weekends Toasty Lyric?

Well it this one, and the lyrics don't really mean anything for me, apart from the fact that it hints on temptation and lust, and how it can destroy lives.. But that's just too heavy for such a freaking awesome Friday...

What I like about this song is, that it's one of those that if you hear it at home, you turn up the volume and dance around the house, bouncing around, arms flapping, feet kicking and head swinging..

Live life, and enjoy it's flirts with temptation, enjoy it's hints and and suggestions. It is always fun to admire and tempt...

    Have a crazy weekend peoples!!!

    Enjoy the song!! I do!

Sean's post made me think of the biker's dictum of what to do when you hit a sandy part:

"Stand up, look up and open up!"

Not a bad idea for a motto in life, that.

Yip, if in doubt, open up.

It might not solve the problem, but it does end the suspense.

    Default A Toast

This morning I woke up with the onset of a bit of gout.

I therefore make a toast to the good life that many South Africans still have and the fact on the odd occasion we can still affordably and enjoyably indulge in some good red meat.

Cheers to the good life that we have in South Africa despite its challenges.
