    Not at all.

At full lock if the vehicle front suspension is articulated at a certain angle you can imagine there is a sound of rubbing (really almost just imagine...barely audible) but I can’t see any rubbing on the wheel arch plastics.

Good to hear, it makes the D5 with 20" wheels a lot more attractive from a practical point of view (although I have to say that even my D4 with 255/55/19 tyres never really gave me problems for my particular needs).

Your D5 looks good with the BFs.

As we will be moving to Tanzania next July, I’m already counting down to the moving date and of course looking which tyres to buy or even bring with. With the extended side walls the KO2 might be a good option as well. As for now I was more thinking Duratracs (loved them on my D4 in RSA) or AT3 (the AT2 didn’t convince me on the D4, preferred the Goodyears), getting too much choice now

I was keen on Duratracs also but battled to find them. Even contacted goodyear customer services and they didnt even bother replying.

I would look at either the BFG's (which I swore not to use after my last experience with them) or the Pirelli Scorpion At Plus.

You do get the Cooper Zeons but at almost R1600 PER TYRE more expensive than the BF's and my previous bad experience with them (4 tyres made huge bulges on the sidewalls on my D4) I would not even remotely consider them.

I fitted the 275 55 R20 Scorpion AT Plus's this morning. The spare also fits easily in its correct space. Amazing how big these tyres are when they are off of the vehicle. Cant really tell any difference in the short drive that I did to the office though.

Old versus New at access height.

I think you made a good choice , my dad always fitted pirelli's to his car , never let him down. The look of your AT on the car is also fantastic

These tyres are awesome. Drove on some very slippery wet grass and mud and they didn’t even spin while other vehicles including a D5 with standard tyres battled. Running boards also keep the mud off the body.

Talking Re: Show us what you’ve done with your New Discovery (5)

Thought I would share this as I found it really funny.

I was just chatting to someone at the local shops about the D5. He happened to see me park and came over and said hi. He wanted to know what roof rack i had fitted.

Anyway, nice guy and we ended up chatting about Landy's in general and traveling to the bush and he said to me he would be too scared to take the D5 to the bush because of all the fancy electronics. (the age old complaint about modern vehicles)
When I asked him what Landy he used to Overland in, he pointed out a very nice kitted out, post 2014, Discovery 4 TDV6 which he claimed to like as "it was simpler and had less gizmos that can go wrong in the bush compared to the D5".....I really battled to keep my laugh in and luckily I was saved by a phone call.

Awesome picture! Drive safe and keep in the tracks. That shale (I think it’s called) on the R355 is sharp and will destroy most tyres.

Beautiful piece of road that R355.

But honestly....the D5 ate it for pudding!!!

Inspected the new rubber afterwards and it looks like it came out the factory this morning.

Could do average of 115km/h most of the way and was smoother than most tar roads (this after some one told me yesterday not to take that road because it is so badly corrugated, etc..)
