    Red face Rat problem

My Neighbour’s tenant just moved out and he apparently bred rats to feed his snakes, either the rats escaped in the move or were let go. Yesterday I had 4 in my garden - they seem darker than normal rats. I won’t poison them (owls) and need some rat traps - anyone know of some that work? And then what do u do when u catch it - I’m not clobbering a rat on the head. Go release it in the bush far far away or donate it to Spca ?

    Bucket half full of water
A stick across the top of the bucket
A handful of barley or other grain floating in the water

    one cup plaster paris
    one cup sugar
    one cup flour.

mix them together and put it out. they eat it, the plaster hardens and it owl safe. you can use it dry or make soft marble size balls. they carry it away and eat it.

Add water close by, it only works well if they drink water fairly quickly afterwards from what I have heard.

Do you end up with a constipated rat or a dead rat?

I'm about to open myself up to hatemail and stalking of severe proportions:

At the China Shop you buy Sticky pads. The Rat stick to them. Next morning, close, stomp, discard.

I had a garden flat next to an industrial area (back wall). One night after rains I had 5 rats in 'mi kitchen' Only thing ended up working was unpacking the kitchen with a length of PVC pipe in my right hand.

    Otherwise install a Jack Russel.

Extremely cruel. Get a rat trap, snap the neck straight away, much more humane.

i am sure i read that one pair can turn into 3000 in a year. thats a lot of trapping if you have a few pairs. so you have to be cruel to be kind.
