Default Feroza 7AGE 20V SILVERTOP TOYOTA

    {Ek gaan hierdie in Engels doen, vir meer blootstelling en terugvoering, maar Afrikaanse terugvoering is welkom...}

I've bought this Feroza from a local dealer. I believe it belonged to Torch on this forum. I'm going to see what I'm going to take it to a friend/mechanic tomorrow and we'll see what we've got here.

I'm not to sure but it looks like:

    Toyota 7afe block
    Toyota 20v 4AGE silvertop head
    2 x Weber carbs ( 40mm ) 40DCOE28

Would like some imput from the original owner, as the dealer are unable to give me any more details.

I'll see if we can sort the carbs out. Other option is to go back to the fuel injection of the 20v top and keep it as simple and basic as possible. Or would as simple as possible be to keep the carbs? I'm not too obsessed about power. Any option would be enough.

It couldn't start at the dealer, so I don't even know what it sounds like.

I took a big risk to buy it and am very nervous at this stage.

yep, spot on. R40 000. but blerrie nervous now.

Got an offer for R42 500 a few minutes after I pressed the confirm button on my phone. 2 gentlemen drove all the way from Upington to buy it. The other salesman then just sold it to me as they walked in...

Sell it the Upington guys. I predict you'll need another R20k to get that thing sorted.

That engine is used by the Lotus 7 replica guys, you'll get good money for it.

I agree with Petri, you need something with more torque, not a screamer engine.

    Ja man.........even a Diesel like a 2,4 ? Or those Toyota 2C snotmixertjies.

LOTS of options I think, even a 160/180i Corolla engine, just maybe not a 16 or 20 valve twincam whatevertheycallit one.

Maar ja........Camry 200/220 sal mooi werk

No, small Toyota diesels are just rubbish.

VW 1.9TD will be epic in that body.

The 20v made almost zero power at low revs. Rather look for a complete 4AFE of the 7AFE from mikes place and just add a management system to the bunch. Expect to pay and extra 15k + to get a reliable ride.

That is all those silver and black tops do and even Honda. Why not obtain some standard throttles from the toy's RSI variant. Is it running a management?

Changing motor would be more of an ball ache that possibly required. Depending on motor condition. Changing motor you would now have to mate that to the gearbox again, as it is already done. Get it to idle to see what condition the motor is in.

Sien jy is in die kaap. Probeer 'n sidedraft spesialis opspoor wat daai dalk kan laat werk. Jessie Hugget was al die jare by Windsor Garage (parow) nie seker of hy op sy eie gegaan het iewers ander nie.
