Default Quick Pitch vs Bundu cube

    Hi
Prys is basies dieselfde.

    Dankie

My initial thinking was to just get the Quick Pitch to mount on my vehicle. I also donít like the shower near the van. (Unless you set it up on the opposite side of the kitchen area like the Cheetah)

i have since become aware of the Bunducube though. So I now have 2 questions

    • Is the Bunducube height adjustable like the Quick Pitch?
    • is the Quick Pitch firm around the bottom like the Bunducube so that if the wind is blowing, you donít have a wet shower sticking to you? Or do you need to use pegs which I would rather not do cos itís something else to do

    Thanks folks

The two poles are an additional support for the pull out "bed drawer", comes standard as is from the factory.

I cannot comment on the Bundu Cube, except what I have read on their website. It states that there is a zip to enter. The Quick Pitch has two zips so you can enter from either side.

The Quick Pitch has 4 dowels in the seam all along the bottom. Keeps the shower curtain square. In big wind you still need to put at least two of the four pegs in. These dowels also assist when rolling up.

The Quick Pitch does not come with any poles as standard. In the first photo, which I cannot turn upright, I have added poles. This allows me to add a privacy room for SWAMBO. I asked David at Afrispoor to make this and as always he was more than willing to assist. These photos were taken at Skuinsbaai Noord on the Namakwa coast and as usual it was extremely windy.

The wind will move it if it's not pegged down. On our recent trip to Angola I used ours everyday, the nights that I didn't fold it away before going to bed it folded itself half way (if that makes sense). It's got place at the bottom if you need to peg it down in wind but I don't bother with it. If mounted on your car you can always park in such a way that the car stops a lot of the wind.

It seems they've now done away with these additional supports. My Cheetah was delivered in Feb and has no additional supports. There are only two pins inside to stop the drawer sliding back in once its pulled out.

Am I correct in saying that you need space to the left of the QuickPitch to allow you to open and close it, whereas the BunduCube collapses in on itself? If so, the QuickPitch might not work so well with a Cheetah because the hatch and associated awning might be in the way.

I was at the Bundutec factory the other day to have a small mod done to my Bunduawn. I understand that they have reworked the BunduCube a bit (mine was one of the first ones). The new ones have a zipper tag that can be operated from both the inside and outside and they have now included gas struts to make the opening and closing easier. For vehicle mounting, they are also working on the problem that not every vehicle has a flat side like a Defender and when the cube drops it drapes itself against the side of the vehicle. Not sure exactly how they intend to fix this - perhaps they'll have a prototype at the show this weekend.
