A pedal booster just reads your throttle input and tells the ecu something else as a throttle input. Its that simple.
We have a few posts above this one...he still knows better

So what does the “Power” and “Eco” mode do in the GD 6 Hilux ? To me this is a factory “Pedal booster” ?

Really? That’s how you want to play this? Why don’t you google and post some results about vehicles where sport mode only affects the throttle sensitivity? Every car I have had with sport mode has been a bit more advanced than what you describe.

Regardless of this, in my opinion the fact remains that peddle boosters and piggy back chips are not the way to tune anything, especially not a modern diesel.

    diesel tuning is simple:

    1.EGT monitoring
    2.upgrade intercooler
    3. Decat, freeflow, 76mm exhaust throughout
    4. Mapping done by someone who knows what they doing.
    5. Hybrid turbo, some more mapping

anything else is just stuffing about

I’m willing to bet that it loads different maps, probably for the fueling and the gearbox. It’s definately more than just throttle sensitivty

We are on topic about pedal boosters, aka iDrive, aka PedalBooster, aka iAccelerate aka WindBooster. They ONLY affect pedal response.

Sport mode from manufacturers is a different topic altogether.

I am however with you regarding the diesel tuning, unfortunately #1 in your list is often most overlooked

It seems these pedal boosters apply a logarithmic curve of sorts to the accel pedals output.

Appears to be the kind of mod a driver that puts M badges all over his 318i would absolutely love
