    Default Zambia power points

can anyone advise the type of power points in lodges and camps in Zambia?
Will a normal South African round three point plug fit?

Some lodges have both next to each other, some dont. You need the square 3 prong adapter for just in case.

Its a difficult one, a few years ago the Zambian government banned the sale of any appliances with the round pin plug. 3 pin square is actually more common; however some places only have round pin, some have square pin and some have both.
    Bring adaptors for both.

Thanks everyone, I will take a round and square three pin.
Maybe the three pin square was inherited from the UK?

I just spent a month there and I never once saw a plug like ours. You should definitely take an adaptor.

Yip, their entire system is similar (except for plugs) as ours and also inherited from the British.

I assume all your plugs (and multi plugs) are the round ones, some 3 pins and some 2 pins. Then all you need is an adapter to take them to the square plugs. Plug in your multi plug (which has both 2 and pin round holes) and and use as you do here.

    Thanks, will get an adapter.
Useful info as it won't be easy to get an adapter once on the road!
