    Today we did some cleaning and brackets for the intercooler. We had to trim the hood locker (not sure if this is whatís called.. haha) and the bumper support.

    We have decided to definitely remove the AC system. The intercooler still fits with the AC system tho. Thereís plenty of room still between the radiator and the intercooler, it was a decision to reduce weight and gain some space in the engine bay. As this will be mostly used as a race car.

    I understand that you say you intend to use this Suzi as a race car, but personally I will find it very hard to remove the aircon . I am however, still very interested in seeing where this is going. So keep up the good work.Out of curiosity, where do you source all the performance parts for this build?

    I have removed part of it already, of course I will still find some issues with that due to water pipes, belt and etc. but Iíll check that as the project goes.

    Iím sourcing everything from Thailand (they have some great projects over there) and Australia.

    Basically more power, I'm not a mechanic so if any mechanic is reading this and has a better explanation, please correct me

    To achieve more power we need more combustion, so more air and more fuel.

    Intake manifold upgrade - technically the gains from it are very small, it will allow more air flow, but the main reason I'm changing is to remove EGR and gain some space, the aftermarket intake manifold does not have EGR fitment. The EGR will recirculate part of the exhaust fumes back to intake, which is not good when your are after performance, deleting EGR will allow only fresh air to the engine.

    Exhaust - More exhaust flow, less restriction will allow the turbo to spool freely and to build more boost faster.

    Intercooler upgrade - The Isuzu stock intercooler goes on top of the engine, which is efficient, but at the same time increases heat soak, so once again, we need cooler air for more performance, and to reduce heat soak having the intercooler mounted in front is better. The cooler the denser the air, and denser air has more oxygen particles in it, which is what we want.

    Nozzles upgrade - We are increasing air flow, I'll be changing turbo as well lately, but we cannot make power with air only, we need more diesel, so 50% more flow nozzles will allow more fuel into the cylinder, along with stroker fuel pump that will be fitted next week.

    Todayís work:
    With engine out we have found some oil leaks, so will solve those first (bought the car recently with 200k km on it)

    We have removed common rail pump
    We have removed vacuum pump and replaced O-ring
    Removed power steering pump and replaced O-ring
    Removed thermostat
    Removed ac pulley that we will not be needing
