Default Amarok On GY Wrangler Adventure - Ride Quality concerns

    Hi Guys

I recently fitted a set of GY Wrangler Adventures on my Amarok. They are 265/60/18 as per spec on Vehicle door tag.

I find that the ride quality isnt as good as it used to be. When cruising on highway the ride feels 'bobbly', as if every slight bump on the road surface is being felt. The old tyres didnt feel like this (Duelers at the front and Geolanders at the rear)

Can anyone else post their experiences with these tyres on their Amaroks?

Are they not perhaps a little hard?
Your "symptoms" are similar to what I had when I "over" inflated my tyres on my previous bakkie

Play around with the tyre pressures. Deflate them by 0.2 bar and see whether it makes a difference. Feel the tyres after you have been driving highway for a while. If they are warm to the touch, it's fine. If they are hot, pressure is too low. Experiment a bit.
Watch the wear pattern: if they wear in the middle more than towards the sides, pressure is too high.

Thanks guys, bobmabena was on the money. Seems the place I used to get the pressures done had them over inflated. Running them at 2.1bar now and it feels fine. There is slight vibe/left to right move t of the steering but I think that's balancing. Will get that checked out at the soonest. Seems the Tyre shop I went to doesn't really know what they doing.

    Glad you're sorted...

Seems tyre places (almost without fail) over inflate the tyres...

    They do yes.

Had new tyres fitted to the company car on Friday. They were inflated to 2.7 bar. Vehicle spec shows 2.2 bar.

Seems like the Tyre shops don't bother calibrating the equipment often enough

Even the Stealers do that, had it on my previous Hilux.

Just the other day I took my cousins Fortuner for a test drive after we picked it up from a service in Pretoria... Immediately I told her they are overinflated and she should get a gauge to keep inside the car. Checked... 2.8 bar
