Default Looking for a compact camping chair

    Hi

I am looking for camping chairs for me and the missus. Mine broke this weekend in the molototsi (the sand is like brake pads on the joints of the chair).

So Iím looking for a camping chair that can fold up to a very compact size. Someone mentioned the front runner one. Iím just worried a bit about the allowed weight. Then there is the Kaufmann one that allows a little more weight

Anyone else know of a camp chair that folds up to a very compact size?

I sat on the frontrunner this weekend and it was not really comfy. (Too short)

I use the Front Runner ones, but weight is not an issue. Super sturdy. Super comfy (for me at least), and fold up smaal and square.

They are fine for skinny people. The gall of them - designing a compact chair that only works for compact people.

I should check what camping chairs bikers use. They have limited space, so maybe someone came up with a Rubikís cube size chair when folded up

I have some some I got from REI in the us. They only have two legs. You balance with your feet. About 1.5 kg, size of an umbrella. Not great after drinks.

Bought some at Cape Union, different design. It does not have the frame digging into the back of your legs. Very sturdy and folds flat. Donít remember the model name

Camping chairs are a bit like ski boats or offroad trailers and caravans.

The bigger and more difficult they are to transport and store, load or deploy, the better they are to use once you get there and deploy them.

I have (had) a great camping chair. It was the oztrail Zeus . Dang now that was a chair. But after folding it up it was still huge. And this past weekend, sand got into the channels and joints. Now I have to use a shovel (like a hammer) to close it. Not even q20 helped. Thatís why Iím looking for something that can fold up to a very small size so I donít need to tie it to the roof rack every time

Get a canvas and steel Directors chair from Tentco or Campmor, they last and is the go to choice of people who need a hard working chair.

Used, abused and approved in Africa.
