    Default Cape Town shut down

I heard this morning that a shutdown of at least 13 areas in Cape Town is planned by protesters for tomorrow. Protesters will block the entrances to these areas so that nobody enters or leaves. They are very adamant that the protests will be peaceful. Yeah right. My wife works in one of these areas, and I am hesitant for her to go there tomorrow.

    Any inside info / thoughts?

It was on the radio this morning. I cannot remember them, I only know that Delft is one of them. It will be there and surrounding areas I think.

I wouldn't get my knickers in a knot about this one - as we used to say in the old days, the group "Gatvol Capetonians" is three men with a fax machine. Now I guess they are three men with a Facebook page and a Twitter account. Life will go on as normal.

I sincerely hope so. It would really disrupt our day if it goes ahead...

OK, I was wrong about some areas, but they certainly didn't "shut down Cape Town" as promised - was out in Stikland and on the R300 this afternoon, and it was clear some tyres were burnt, but otherwise quiet from just after lunch.

Ja lawlessness from the top has reached grass roots and to turn this around will require plenty shooting and bloodshed. People forget, we are in Africa.

It won't SOLVE lawlessness, but it will very likely be a part of the re implementation of Law and Order if it were ever to be attempted.
