    Default Braai Puddings

Guys, I am not a pudding eater but the family enjoy theirs so its the last thing on my mind when shopping for a braai. Swambo usually nukes a store bought malva or similar.

I need a 100% fail safe made from scratch braai pudding recipe please.

I suppose this can go through as a pudding.

So this is more of a "It WAS time". I saw a recipe in one of the travel magazines of this Nutella and Strawberry pizza. Whilst camping at Pretoriuskop a couple of weeks ago, we decided to give it a try. Although the recipe does cover the making of the dough also, I took shortcut and bought ready made dough from our local Spar. I then rolled this out relatively flat and put it on the gas plate until brown and done on both sides. It then got a thick spread of Nutella and then covered with sliced strawberries. All I can say is that we wished we had some more strawberries.<br />

I don't have photos, but I bake the malva pudding on the coals. Just replace the cream with some Amarula. We also bake an apple crumble, a chocolate fondant pudding and from time to time a Wortelkoek.

I think Swambo might be very accommodating if I can get that right

Traditional British Pudding in a Pot....for the winter .... in Afrikaans.

Roly Poly. (Baie resepte vir die deeg op die internet)

Maak deeg aan en rol uit.
    Smeer appelkooskonfyt.
    Rol op
    Sit in platboompot.

Maak stroop met kookwater, suiker en botter.
Gooi oor opgerolde deeg in pot.

Maak gaar oor medium hitte kole.
Halfpad deur die gaarmaak, sit 'n paar kole op die deksel om mooi bruin te bak bo-op.

Eet saam met 'n lekker vla.

I like to make a braai pie with apple, raisins and cinnamon. Serve with hot custard.

I posted it on the It are time thread some time back.

I also like to deep fry little vetkoek bolletjies in a cast iron pot on the fire (about the size of a golf ball) and then sprinkle a little castor sugar on them.

    Tastes very sweet and delicious.

I first had it in New Orleans. And no, itís not a donut.

I have a buddy who sometimes pitches at a braai with one of those Woolies "braai puddings", the ones you slap on the grid after the braai. When dinner is over, it's hot, the marshmallows on top is melted and it's pretty good. It's store bought, but you "braai" it, so eh?
