    Default Kruger by Motor home.

So Mandy and I are not campers. (Sorry I know that is not allowed on this group)

So I remember wonderful caravaning holidays as a child.

My uncle then sold this romantic idea to Mandy that we can travel the Kruger by RV or motorhome and it appealed to her.

No camp setup and in the morning she can sleep in while I throw our chairs in and off we go. I only wake her up when the leopard crosses the road and stops for a photo shoot.

We have booked in Pretoriuskop (4nights) and berg en Dal(1 night) for later this month and hope to have a lot of fun.

Booking at Maui was easy and safari.com organized the Kruger bookings.

I know this romantic simplistic plan has many faults but it is a start and I am so happy to not be in a hotel.

Tips and comments and even critisms are welcome.

So if this works I can see a blinkgat 4x4 camper in my future.

Good, we did this many moons ago when the kids were still small and toured the Cape for a month. Parking for shopping was an issue. We did rent a small car for the 5 days we stayed in CT.

I would do it any day again. Just leave something at campsite to indicate it is occupied (although I have heard rude people moving this.)

    Enjoy

Borrow a popup tent and leave that on site. Seconds to open and a minute to pack.

If I find a good spot I will put up a gazebo.

I assume nobody would move that.

So one of the great negatives is that you are not allowed long distance on gravel roads.

How much of a negative is this in the South of Kruger.

Best holiday ever. Planning another one soon.
We were told that the bigger gravel roads were fine but none of the smaller ones(?) We did a lot of gravel roads in Kruger with no trouble( but with care) as it was mainly overhanging bushes/trees that you had to watch out for.
The beauty of the motorhome is at a sighting you can move from one side to the other for photos. Also after a prostate op the convenience of an onboard toilet was GREAT

Looking at next year for a trip but not sure whereto yet.

    Enjoy
