Default Pirelli Scorpion ATR vs Bridgestone Dueler D697

Hi,I need to get new tyres for my VW Tiguan. I actually wanted the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 but cant get them anywhere.Used to have Michelin Primacy 3 (235/55 R17) and only got 49k out of them. Saw another Tiguan with the Geolanders (225/65 R17) on and saw you get a 100k warranty on them. Not willing to buy another set of Michelin tyres.Currently I can get the Scorpion ATR and Duelers and need to decide. Any comments would be appreciated.

My Fortuner came out with the Dueller 694. I replaced them with Scorpion ATR on 80,000km and they are currently on 56,000, definitely looking to pass the 80,000km reached with the Duellers. I measure them throughout and make a note of the thread every 10,000 when I rotate them. Currently they still have 5mm left on the 56,000km done.

I got them for a bit cheaper than the duellers.
The road noise from the Duellers is more than the Scorpions, especially when the blocks start to run down unevenly, which even 10,000km rotations does not help for, they recommend every 5,000.
If anything the Pirelli roadhandling feels better as well, but I cannot argue that the one is better than the other in this department.

Unless something goes seriously wrong my next set will be Scorpion ATR again.

    Thanks for the comments.

No reason it HAS to be one of these... Any other 225/65 R17 tyres you can advise on?

Have you considered the scorpion AT Plus?
Supposed to be better than the ATR.

May be bad luck, but my friend went from ATR to AT Plus in December on his Hilux. He lost his second tyre of them this past weekend, where he has never had it with the ATR's. The second one a piece of glass went right through it, through the thickest part of the rubber.

My tyre guy at Hi Q rekons the ATR is a lot better than the AT, I was looking at them when I replaced and he said rather go for the Adventures.......also the Pirelli has got very expensive.

Currently leaning towards the ATR. Any "guesstimate" as to what I can expect from them? 80-100k?

Mine is on 55,000km with 5mm thread left. I'm sure I will see 80, perhaps even 100,000, which is what others report as well. I'm happy with them and at the R1,800 which I paid for the 265/65/17's I will be getting them again next time round. I don't abuse them though.
