Friend/colleague of mine had the same problem with Duelers, it really sounded mechanical but was the tyres. If everything else checks out fine, just live with it for the next ~20k km's...

Had Duelers fitted to my first Mitsu, a Colt.

Within 20 000km they became very noisy. Close inspection revealed a distinct step wear pattern between the adjacent blocks of the outer tread.

Currently I have BFGs on my 2015 Paj.
Noisy as hell even though I cross rotate every 5000 km.

I had the same problem with BFGs on my previous Pajero Sport.

Great long lasting tough tyres but noise factor ai ai.

Best go for a less aggressive tread like Michelin or HT tyres.

    Congrats and enjoy!

    Hi Guys
    Thanks for all the feedback/comments.
Apparently they fitted another Pajeros wheels shot with HT tyres to test. They claim it was nice and quite although I didn't experience this for myself.

Will just turn up the music louder on the Rockford Fosgate system then....

    Hi Guys

    So....

Just an update after completing the first 800km of owning a Gen4 Pajero...

Drives real nice but......Man does it rattle

After only 2 shortish trips(No gravel roads involved), my wife now calls it the "blik vol boute".....

Compared to the Triton this thing is a rattlebox, even just driving in town and hitting a repaired patch in the road will awaken one of the 10 rattles inside the cabin. I know about the dash rattle issue and have read about the rattle at the windscreen as well. But how do you guys live with the rest of them. Not even our 1999 Gen 2.5 rattled this much.

If I were to do a gravel road weekend at this point, I would def. take my trusty Triton as it doesn't rattle as much, even when doing Northen Namib gravel roads

Don't get me wrong, I love the Pajero.

    Enjoy your day

So mine had the following rattles that I have been able to fix.

    1. Dash - fit braces
    2. Sunroof headliner - fitted 3D printed braces to stop it hopping up and down
    3. Rear door - adjust the door latch
    4. Tools in under floor storage - Pack inside cloth bag made to size
    5. Passenger cubby hole - fitted HD foam around the latch so the latch is tighter when closed.

This sorted out the majority of rattles on mine.
All else fails, turn up the volume or press the right pedal deeper and listen to the glorious V6 sign.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Yes

I have adjusted the rear door to be tighter already. It seems to be the flimsy cover over the 2 shelve thingies in the rear door that rattles.

I have the sunroof cover rattle as well but it is better when fully closed. If opened halfway or fully, it rattles.
Will attack the Pajero on Saterday with some self adhesive HD foam strips and see how far I get. Just a little dissapointed that a premium vehicle like this from my favourite brand is filled with rattles while my bakkie is nice and silent and matches the Pajero in ride comfort.(The way my bum experiences it anyway...)
