Default One night camping stopover between BFN and Hazyview

    Hi all,

    need some ideas here please.

We're heading up to KNP from PE at the end of September and will be staying over in BFN and one more place on the way up to Hazyview. It is for this one more place that I am looking for. A decent camping place is pretty much what we are looking for in either Western Mpumalanga or SE Gauteng.

Should be relatively close to the route (route can either be the Bethlehem/Vrede Standerton route or the R59/N12/N4 route.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

What I have seen so far is Sionbergh in the Heidelberg area which is roughly 400km from BFN.

    Thanks in advance

Bloem to Hazyview is no biggie especially with the N1 now being double between Ventersburg and Kroonstad. The nicer campsites are mostly on the escarpment or in the Lowveld anyway, which would be too close to Hazyview to be viable IMO. However, if you choose to stay over I'd suggest Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve between Meyerton and Heidelberg; absolutely beautiful. When I lived in Alberton I went there often; the Highveld was such a beautiful place before humanity mucked it up...

    Hi Alan,

5 of us, i.e. 3 kiddies, wife and myself. Previous day would have been PE-BFN and don't want to do successive days with more than 500km. Kids and Swambo get too grumpy...

A little bit more 500km is doable though

You are welcome to spend the night at our place. Just off the R59, between Meyerton and Alberton. We have a spare room and ample space for the kiddies to pick a spot as well, place to lock the vehicles away as well.
