    Default Grand Cehrokee Maintenance Plan

Took my 2015 Grand Cherokee V6 with 75000km in to Jeep today with a faulty aircon. Only to be told that my original full maintenance plan does not cover any electrical faults on the vehicle. So if the aircon condenser needs replacing it will be for my account. Even worse they wanted to charge me for a diagnostic test which I would have to pay if the work is not covered under the maintenance plan. After a huge fight the waived the diagnostic fee.

Received a call from the service advisor to be told that there is a crack in the one pipe and the condenser will have to be replaced and all of this will be for my account. They will apprantly attempt to get headoffice to repair this under some special approval or something but I am sure it is a stalling technique. Does anyone know what the story is.

With my previous Grand Cherokee we were told that the extended motorplan did not cover everything but we are talking the orginal motorplan here.

    Thanks

    Electrical damage is not covered.

For the rest, they're talking rubbish IMHO.

My condenser popped on my 2012 GC 3.6 a year ago.

Ordered one from Ebay at a fraction of the cost than local suppliers.

    So far so good.

So just got a call from the dealer. The quote is R18900 for the repair of the aircon (new condensor, pipe and re gas) of which nothing will be paid under motorplan. I repeat this is the orginal motorplan and not some extended aftermarket plan. As a show of goodwill the dealer has said they will pay for the gas which is R800. The best is dealer tells me that headoffice has asked them to ask me to tell them how much I am prepared to pay and then they will make a decision on some sort of contribution. Have you ever heard of crap like this.

    Which dealer is this?

Try another - this is complete BS. Whats the point of the motorplan then?

How is a crack in a pipe an "electrical fault" anyway?

    Nonsense. They must cough up.
