I think I might have met you with Dave and Pauline.
That sucks having to have to be in the que twice, but nevermind at least you are going to get the latest and greatest. Well at least you have an awesome trip [ined up to celebrate your new Cheetah.

We are doing a trip to the burg with friends. It will be their maiden trip with their new baby which they collect on sat. They previously had the fold down bed with a rear shower unit.

No cheetah, but we’re going to lotheni in the southern drakensburgs, with our companion... looking forward to it. Safe travels!

We're off to Dwarsberg trout Hideaway near Rawsonville, supposed to be the best campsite near Cape Town, normally booked up +6 months ahead. Must have been a cancellation as we managed to get a booking two weeks ago.

Thats awesome, I had never seen the new factory before. A hell of a lot bigger than the old one, that's progress.

Was at the factory a few weeks back to get some spares, talk is that they will be getting another unit, with their own laser cutting machine and also starting to do their own canvas work...things are on the up.....

I am so glad you have to give credit where credit is due and Dave's quality is definitely stepped up to the plate . Actually I am so impressed with the new Cheetah's that I am starting to itch. Hmmm!! the delivery time would be an issue but worthy of the wait.

I have recently completed a 104 day 16800 km trip through Namibia - (started in Pennington) - towed with the ford ranger - fuel consumption was about 13,5 for the entire trip including the 4x4 travel in deep sands - problems that I encounter along the way - piston slap on ford ( ford replaced the engine with no issues) - one tyre lost on bad road ( got a tyre monitor system and didnít have any further problems as the system give early warnings on a flat before you can feel it) - water pump on cheetah didnít work automatically so had to make a manual override switch ( Dave replaces pump when I got back ) back left stabilizer jack twisted when leveling the caravan on uneven ground (repaired myself on the trip)- lights plug dislodged and disappeared after traveling on very bad road ( made up a shock cord system to hold caravan wires up )- found the caravan to be almost completely dust free ( we did over 8000 km on dirt roads) - found the mattress on the thin side so have now put in a thicker mattress - condensation under the mattress was a problem ( Dave has now put gym mat under the mattress) - shower at the back was great - I found that tyre pressures for different driving conditions makes a big difference - we had an amazing holiday - we are off again in October to Botswana -

Another thing I did - all the tyres and rims on cheetah and ford are exact match and all wheels are totally interchangeable - I traveled with 3 spares on my trip - and have the tyre monitors on each wheel -

Hi and good morning, what an awesome post. Just as a matter of interest did you do the whole trip alone or was there another car accompanying you.
You really covered Namibia well and did you have to carry a lot of spare fuel.
I enjoyed that post very much. Thank you

Hi - I carried 70 L extra fuels - only needed to top up with it twice - Namibia has fuel ( with card machine payment) all over the place . 90 % of the trip we did alone - only up in the kunene area did we travel with others - Namibia is a very safe travel destination - tourist friendly -

Agreed, I need to plan an itinerary for Namibia next year. It has been way too long since I was last in Namibia. The trouble is that you get too quick old and too late wise.
I just want to spend a bit of time in Etosha and then the northern border .
