    Cool August long weekend camping

Are there any people that want to go camping on the weekend of the 9th of August anywhere on the North Coast between Salt Rock and Richardsbay, I have a very serious case of Cabin Fever and would like to go relax somewhere with likeminded people. I really think it's time for a bit of relaxing somewhere. If you have an idea of where to go, lets talk and plan.

Sounds good to me, any more takers? It would be nice to meet up with other forumites. Are you booking into R/bay caravan park?

I'll come visit in the evenings, can't camp with the family though.

Sounds like a good idea Heinz, will be good to see you again.

We will be up in Mkhuze, but I’m not sure I’ve ever been accused of being “like minded” ... however, we will be there from late Thursday afternoon till Sunday mid-day. There will be cold beer, decent wine and a fire nearby.

Hi Riaan, it will be good to catch up again, maybe try to organise a coast trip like last time or anything interesting to see or do.

Heinz, yes indeed, it will be good to catch up. We are experiencing unpredictable times, therefore Iam uncomfortable to organize anything formal as our plans often and could change overnight.

Will have to play it by the dice rolled for us unfortunately.

It is such a pity we can't join you.

Even worse now that we know that you could have taught TP (bad knees and all) some Sipho Mchunu / Johhny Clegg moves. There’ll be another time. The Honourary Rangers are raising some money to rebuild the braais at the campsite, we’re trying to engineer a weekend to actually scrum down and do the actual building work. We’ll stay in touch and as soon as circumstances allow we’ll be there.

We are here for the long weekend,
Let me know if you going somewhere for the day...beach ?

Went to Nyogies on Saturday and Flatrocks, Flatrocks road still closed, found a new way but couldn't get through as we were only one vehicle.

Maybe keep an eye on this thread, if something is planned it will be posted here.

Thumbs up Re: August long weekend camping

So, Richardsbay caravan park it is and a possible trip to Mkuze, nothing set in stone, we will discuss and see what develops. As long as we can have a good kuier and some great times around the "bosveld TV" (campfire)

I like the "nothing set in stone" idea Heinz. Just, for the love of all that is holy or whatever, please please don't decide to have a quick beer at either Mkhuze Cricket Club or The Boabab if it so happens we or others head that way. You will come back on the Wednesday only, take my word for it. Or end up in Ponta Do Oura on Thursday morning, with a dodgy lady called Sarah who has a disturbingly Irish accent.

As you know, Northern Zululand can be three scales worse than the famed Bermuda Triangle, where fighter planes and ships went lahlekile.

Mkhuze Cricket Club ... hmmm. Mwarf and I have decided we can’t wait till the long weekend and are heading lapa side on Friday till Monday. There’s a little rugby match I might need to watch. Sometimes the section ranger opens the hall behind reception and shows it, failing that, maybe some cricket ..

So are we talking the long wekend? or which dates?
We may just be interested in joining up.

As with Riaan we also have other factors to consider these days ... but Richards Bay is a reasonably sized town and i am guessing a reasonable medical facility somewhere nearby?
    Think ER - fully equipped.

It is time (Skunjalo Riaan?) for us to get away from home again even if it is just for an extended weekend.
