Default T6 Ranger shock absorber replacement

I am due to replace the 4 shocks on my XL Plus 4x4 after almost 4 years and 187k km. I only want to replace the shocks and don't want to do a suspension upgrade.

Ford quote me R7587. BestDrive quoted me R3750 for Monroe's and R4272 for Gabriel Safari's.

What have you guys replaced with and what would you recommend? I do plenty gravel roads and a fair share of trails and some overlanding trips fully loaded. Or I try to at least fit one in per year.

Bilstein B8 is my go to. Currently testing out the Safari Hdp from Gabriel.

    Decent so far.

I'd love to one day fit a set of Tough Dog though.

    2 or 4 - no way 1 at a time.

Try Pedders heavy duty gas shocks - for on and offroad use R6000

The one a year refers to the overlanding or packed to the brim trip

Just to give you an idea cost wise, i paid R1550 for all 4 shocks at Midas and fitted it myself.

They had to take apart almost the complete front suspension setup to fit the front shocks. As a result alignment had to be done also. I would not have felt comfortable to do the work myself.

Did you do it on the Mazda or Hilux?
