Default Quest for the perfect rear bumper

As there is a lack of great looking rear bumpers for the D3 / D4 I have started my quest to manufacture the perfect bumper.

Here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming. These photos were taken after laser cutting and laser bending completed. No other work done.

    Thanks bud.

    Update on development

I have this wild crazy plan to make the bumper modular meaning the spare wheel carrier on the right can be removed (Same as the last pic 2 posts above)
On the left there will be another swing away for an accessory, jerry cans or maybe another spare wheel if needed. Also removable.

Lets see if this is doable

Any reason why you didn't make it flush with the tailgate/body, to increase your departure angle?

I don't need that serious of a departure angle - my car is built for adventure travel and not hectic 4x4 courses. I want to try and keep it factory like looking with accessories.

Most importantly, you cant make it flush because there is a cross member which you shouldnt remove as it has counter (Stability) weights which is what keeps the disco on 4 wheels (and not in hilux position) in a moose maneuver.

I cant find the pictures but there was a guy in the states that did it to his LR3 and it just looks strange/ weird/ not nice and he had serious stability issues.

    weight wise?
this vs a standard bumper. if its heavy im sure will affect road handling right?
it does look really cool and slick

Thanks for the compliment bud. It will definitely be heavier than the stock bumper (Steel vs plastic). As mentioned before we are not removing the cross member. I don't have a picture of it but the photo below (Not mine) shows it perfectly.

Will weigh the bumper once its done but as it is low down weight it will actually add a bit of stability i think
