Default Hot 4 Cold Intercooler TD5

    Hi Landy buddies!

So, over the weekend, I have cleaned out my intercooler and saw that i have an aftermarket Hot 4 Cold cooler installed, is this better than the standard Land Rover one. Is there anyone else here using a Hot 4 Cold TD5 intercooler? Is it worth the upgrade to a bigger intercooler?

It is considered an acceptable upgrade. So yes, it is better than the original.

    thanks Jelo!

must say my EGTs have never gone higher than 535. no remap or chip.

basic mods done to my TD5:
    - Free flow exhaust
    - Torqetune silicone boost pipes
    - Madman to monitor the Storm!
    - Hot4Cold bigger intercooler
    - disco 1.2 ratio transfer case.

What do they go for? I have a cirrus intercooler and experienced a good improvement throughout the rpm range.

Must say a td5 with some breathing mods, intercooler and an optimized tune is a totally different beast.

The Hot4Cold retails around R5000 from the supplier. I was lucky to get one from a mate who sold his TD5

my next mod on my TD5 will be to improve the air induction system. I have a mantec snorkel on but if you look into the engine bay, you will see there is a lot of bends and loops in the piping to the airbox. would like to use a 3" flexi hose to reroute the snorkel straight to the airbox.

    3" is too small IMHO

    Hi Jelo,

you recon? i haven't done research on this yet but i know a few Aussies are running 3" - 4" intakes straight to the TD5 airbox and then to the turbo aswell

will be a fun weekend experiment to do

I'd say 4" / 100mm at least. But talk to Dougal on the Ozzie forums, he knows his stuff.
