"Breakable gadgets" apply to all luxury vehicles.
Mine is 12+ years old and two of the spring-loaded retaining-thingies in the front cup holders are not working. I really should figure out how to open the centre console to hook the springs back in...

indeed, and we had our share of those breaking in the Grand Cherokee, hence my comment

A lot has to do with mechanical sympathy for things and, yes, a bit of luck. Absolutely everything in my Treg works like day one (12 years old), including everything in the interior. Not a single clip broken, ashtrays, cup holders all like day one.

I don't know about tregs, but i have replaced some bits on the amarock, like the 4x4 transfer case switch. It was around 300ronts so not silly money. If the treg is similar, I see no reason not to keep it running with everything working in the event something little breaks.

Thanks for this, as a former T-Reg owner and TFL subscriber, these videos were very satisfying to watch.
Makes me want to buy another T-Reg.

Aye, Indeed. It's frightening, Turns the legs to jelly. Or should I say 'to Jelo'.

But credit were credit is due, First gen Touaregs successfully pulled off the 3 vehicles in one stunt better than any of its competitors.
However these vehicles were well ahead of their time and were a first swing at the segment and so they were packed with lots of tech goodies to break.

Not that I'm comparing, but with the JKU I've had ZERO nightmares about waking up to find the car sagging on one side.
Even just thinking about it is making my wallet upset.

I was pretty impressed with the roller test, again not a proper simulation, but it performed really well. The reliability comments was a bit of a surprise, I really didn't get the idea that the Treg is super unreliable when I did my research, yes it is a big expensive car and yes mine has had some issues, but it isn't more expensive to run than anything comparable in my opinion.

Why can't get himself to say that the Treg is way better, even with street tyres?
Always a "but", which he can't substantiate.

The ground clearance from the air suspension is massive. Did that follow through to the later/newer models with air suspension?

On the facelift models yes (up to 2010 IIRC), not sure about the next gen, possibly a little less, but probably in the same ball park. I remember the first time I saw a Treg on extra height, it was pretty amazing.

I think he was very objective in his commentary. The Treg is more capable but the Disco is more robust. Daily heavy off roading will probably cost you more in the Treg over time.
What I could never understand was why LR never fitted at least a mechanical rear locker on the Defenders and early Discos. The traction control was pretty useless compared to the Treg's.

But yeah, the Treg is impressive. I once joined an exact same V8 Treg on an off road trail in my then Syncro and the Treg blew me away

Dan is dit die selle, 300mm is die spec op die T1 en facelift ook. Sit dan groter bande op en dan rek jy dit met nog n stukkie
