Default Advice on 110 Tdi buying price

    Hi everyone

A friend is selling his 2006 Defender 110 Tdi with 160000kms on the clock for R195000. I am considering buying it but I'm wondering if this is a good price? It is one of the few Tdi's brought into RSA during 2006 so is apparently quite rare. It has been well looked after, has a full service history and is in excellent condition.
Does anyone know if this sounds like a decent price?

    Default Tdi price

    Good grief
    !60 000 km in a little over 2 years ? Used as a Taxi ?
I would say the price is a bit high. Not necessarily a bad buy, however.
But R120000 seems more ball park to me.

didnt the tdi's stop in the late 90's?
and the td5's go on from there?

eish i have a 94 tdi which isnt worth much.. and on 200 000km's at present.
160 000km in 2 years sounds rough for any vehicle.

Ja 300Tdi. Die Defender is net so ingevoer. daai Kalahari sticker en bullbar wat hy op het is in RSA deur LR opgesit.

Definitely 160 000 kms. My friend is a photographer and he uses his landy as his only vehicle, travels far most days and takes +- 2 months off a year to go trekking. The engine is the 2.5tdi found in the normal tdi ie pre-2000.

Apparently Landrover continued to make the tdi long after they stopped importing them into SA, and this one is one of a few hundred brought into SA in 2006.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I've also been thinking that, lovely vehicle though it is, the price is a bit high.

That is a rare Landy indeed. That is however all its got going for it, the price is quite high for the milage. Agree with Dave, offer R120k and haggle from there, be stingy.

If the service record is as good as you say, well looked after, you can get it up to 300k if you look after it properly
