Default Help with Puma mysterious oil leak!!

My 130 has a mysterious leak in the driver side engine bay.
the turbo boost pipe is wet underneath and also the steering universal.
After driving, the oily substance can be seen on the outside chassis rail.

    turbo is dry underneath.
Steering box is new and no leaks there
Brake master cylinder is also dry.

Its just around the turbo boost and steering universal...
    What can it be

    D-tox,

I suspect the steering column universal has worn a hole through the boost pipe and oil collected in the pipe has been blasted through the hole.

    Cheers

I have checked the boost pipe and it seems fine, also no noise...
there is quite a bit of oil coming out from somewhere turbo and feed pipes are clean.. super difficult to properly inspect the area though ..

could it be no3 in the drawing? damn, not easy to check..

    1) steam wash
    2) allow to dry
    3) try establish the real source of the oil

did that before, cleaned and dried everything... after a 20min run its wet at the specified locations.. obviously only pushing it out under pressure, there is no isolated area that seems to have more oil/dripping than the other..

I still think you should take out the pipe and have a proper look. It may only open up on full boost. Its a known issue for those uv joints to wear holes through that pipe.

talcum powder will identify the source, but attachmentid=533159 seems to show that the source is actually higher up

    Yep, or...

I had a mysterious leak/spray on the 2,5CRDi H1. Found it with the help of soapy water...inlet manifold gasket somehow not sealing and was blowing out boost.

there is not supposed to be that much oil coming out of the turbo outlet, it will fill the inter cooler in no time.

what side is the fuel return line? but the viscosity is not right for it to be Diesel...

Fair enough, sounds like way too much oil then. The fuel return is on the other side near fuel rail.

Thanks ClaudG for the image, I really need to search for my RAVE cd for the Puma ..

So I inspected the whole area:
    Turbo feed pipes-Dry.
Removed the boost pipe-Dry(on inside) and no visual damage.

Hung over the turbo and the turbo oil drain pipe looked slightly wet on the mounting flange..(rest of the pipe downwards was dry)I know the drain pipe has no pressure but hey, maybe just enough to spray a little??
took a socket and they could tighten +- 10 degrees, looking at the above pic, I don't see any area that can be responsible for an oil leak on that side of the engine.

Wiped everything with some paper towels, and this morning after 20km drive it seems to be dry (no new "wetness")

Will clean the whole area properly tonight and monitor for the week.

    Lets hope..

    Thanks!

Must admit, I could not see the 2 orange feed pipes in above pics where they mount to the block(no space)
but if they were leaking it would be oil between the block and turbo..

my oil wetness was under the boost pipe and directly dripping on the steering universal from there..
