For those questioning the strength of wood and the use there of, this might interest you. I'm referring to those who think our plywood coffin won't handle any off-road conditions

The story goes like this, while getting somebody that works close to me to laser cut the logo out of 6mm plywood we actually accidentally stumbled on a little experiment. BTW. (This is by no means an actual experiment it's just something Interesting to share)

    Couple of facts firsts:
First of all when I'm talking laser cutter I'm referring to one of these that the guys use to cut out signs out of MDF and perspex typically seen at crafty stores. So it's not an industrial machine as such.
The material I supplied was 6mm birch plywood
The material they used was 6mm MDF (medium density Fibreboard)

Using the MDF board and setting the laser to 60% the logo was cut in four passes.

Unfortunately his machine was unable to cut the plywood. According to him he set the machine to 100% and with 4 passes he burnt the wood and managed to get a 1.5mm depth of cut.
I was quite amused by this, and hence think that our choice of using plywood as construction material was the right decision

i tiny spot of copper slip on the stainless bolt helps as the nut sometimes bind up if there is a lot of thread to tighten up on (something i learnt the hard way on the early days of my boat building)

We considering putting a tongue box on the front part of the trailer, but not sure if it would interfere with the turning circle. I made this sketch and applied a 50 degree turn, but not really sure what can and can't be done.
Is there a rule of thumb to follow when looking at something like this?

Try a little gasket silicone on the threads. Even on exhaust studs. Even on spark plug threads. Think about it. It works.

Finally got some time to type out a quick post.
It was a hectic 24hrs with the build taking up so much time we decided to just order some take out.
Bad choices had me SWAMBO and little me hugging the porcelain thrones for most of the night.
Luckily it seems like we over the most of it.

Anyway getting back to the build. It was a very productive weekend with almost no hiccups.
I think the cupboard face was the part that caused us the most headache's, other then that it was smooth sailing.
