If you had an IIDtool you would be able to code it yourself.... Maybe there is someone on here with a Pro license that can help you.

Failing this you would need to go to a stealer (dealer) to do it for you.... No idea about the cutting

I'm thinking of buying a used key fob with a blank key template and programming it as a 3rd key for mine to keep in the safe as a spare. the 2 keys are currently being used (each has a different memory seat setting)

My second key just went dead...a key master says it is a loose solder on the board and the indie says it's the battery. Any suggestions where I can go in CT so I can fix this without paying the price of a new key?

long story on what happened to my spare key...

thank you Rob for the reply. Currently looking at having to go to that Stealer (dealer). Believe it or not theyíre cheapest so far, just hope they can do it and not give a story of having to change the whole module.
BTW, Oooooo your Landy looks schweet. Give me some ideas on good to haves please? Maybe some pics of yours please?

I have an IIDTool, how do you do this ?

Also any recommendations as to the best place to get a blank ?

And where can one get the physical key cut, I guess that an ordinary locksmith can't do it ?

    Hi Jola,
Best is to check in YouTube. Thereís a few videos.
May I ask what did the IIDtool cost? Getting crazy quotes for the coding.
Correct, any locksmith should be able to cut the key.
    Awesome Disco you got there.

Thanks for the compliments bud. You are looking at about $500ish to buy one on ebay. I was lucky, mine was advertised for a range rover only (the owner didnt know that the car can be changed) and I bought it for under $250. GAP Diagnostics changed owner and car and off I went. The IIDtool is such an amazing tool from Dianostics to Height adjustments, to coding keys. Every disco owner should have one IMO

I am in process of doing a video feature film of my car, will share when its done. It will feature every single modification done to the Disco

Have a look here, it takes you through the process on programming a key fob -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtxUaD8nMOQ

I have recently bought a blank from eBay but have not looked at where to cut it as yet.

I am going to try one of the eBay ones and see how it works.

Of course, the SA Post Office may steal it, we will see.

    Thanks !

Do you know if he has the blank keys or do you have to supply those ?

I ask because some of the key fobs on eBay come with the electronics but without the blank.

Oh, and what is well priced ?

Yes he does do the full/complete key also. Complete key and coding and cutting is +-R2500 from him (yeah, still a lot of money though cheaper/less expensive than others Iíve checked with)

change the battery yourself, will be done in 2 minutes. Doesnt even use a special battery but the 2032 common type. Youtube is your friend

Anthony at Northern Keys Parow supplied me with a spare Disco 4 today. Very good guy with very good equipment to code the new key in about 10 mins - efficient, courteous service with a smile - so impressed.
