Default De Wildt 4x4 Trail - June 2019

Did De Wildt 4x4 Trail a couple of weeks ago.

The video should give a good overview of what it is all about and what can be expected.

Hi Bogaards. Just a quick question. De wild 4x4 trail and Moghatle, will I be able to do this trail with a standard 4x4 double cab. Or do I need to have a vehicle that is fitted with a suspension lift etc? That is now without damaging my vehicle?

De Wildt can easily be done with a standard double cab.

Moegatle you might get some damage if you don't pick the correct line, most likely you will bend running boards, but again you can avoid some of the obstacles. I am sure there are many people that do this trail with standard vehicles.

Best is to practice and make sure you know your vehicle. It also help if you have a good spotter who can pick the correct line for you if you are unsure.

Yes, I have done both in a standard vehicle with standard MS type tires. The first time doing Moegatle was back in 2002 or 2003 when the 4x4 ''scene'' was starting to gain momentum and when we didnt have all of the accessories available today.

The best bits of kit that you have are common sense and good judgement.

    Which bakkie is it?
I once did that trail with mates, one with a standard hilux, and one with a standard navara (old shape).

the hilux did it with ease. The Navara scraped its belly, nudgebar and sidesteps on everything, and had to take the chicken route a couple times. It couldnt do the first axle twister climb at all - ok, it was pouring with rain, but, still it was getting hungup
