    Default 12v fridge

G day all .my dad had a problem with his 12v fridge and tried to fix it ,in re assembly he swapped pos and neg and blew some parts...compressor ran and did cool but he could not set temp or see temp....then I tried to work on it now it's dead....was thinking if any body can suggest a hard start cap setup to get it running did find a temp controler will wire it in when comp is running again. Ps was bought Farmcity me thinks a Kaufmann brand. Has a Domus compressor.

There should be a protection diode on the incoming power that must blow when polarity is changed. Might be a good place to start. Get the controller running again to see if it will ramp up and start the compressor. Compressor should be fairly bulletproof.A or B type.
