    Default Spots LED vs HID

Am looking into spots, pencil beam with narrow beam angle and maximum possible throw without breaking the bank.

    Would appreciate advice:

There seems to be some confusion with regard to LED spots and the law - does each "globe" of the LED array count as 1 forward facing light in terms of the road traffic act, or does the spot entire count as 1 forward facing light?

The sales pitch for the night raider (only 70w each, 6300 lumen, 7 degree beam angle, 400m throw) is impressive but:
    would any HID match this?
what would the wattage of the HID have to be to match this output?
would the unit be much larger than the night raider?
and would it cost less? (night raider is R5600.)

    Thanks in advance!

The entire housing is seen as the light, no matter how many LEDS are housed therein.

Best test for legality of any light, is the E certification embossed on the inside of the lens. After that hurdle, it's your choice as to what you are willing to pay.
