I had 2 starter solar kits in my food trailer. One kit ran the lights & extractor fan. The other kit ran the water pump & music. Click image for larger version.

I ordered my 12 Volt pressure pump on the 04 July online from Reliable Store and it arrived at my front door on the 17 July. I was impressed by the way Reliable Store updated the order status every day detailing where about the order was. Hope I am impressed with the pumps performance as well.

Just mount that N$420 pump on something that absorbs sound, else you will wake up die whole neighborhood when opening a tap.

Also take care of the pressure. Some of them pump as high as 8 bar. Also the one I used got to a point where it did not switch off at a time I was not at the caravan and it burnt out. In my case I used a pressure regulator to keep the pressure at a usable level. I am sure the pump will work well if only switched on when a tap is opened.

Most of them have a bypass screw which you can fine tune the stop-start pressure.

Can one use this "Reliable" pump in line with a gas geyser? I will really like to have a system like that in my van

True statement that. The fixing / mounting feet are rubber but the pump is certainly not the quietest

I am trying to get away from the standard caravan tap that come complete with micro switch to start the pump when the tap is opened and was hoping a pressure pump would do the trick. Plan is to use the pressure pump with pressure switch and to use normal open / close taps. The other reason for wanting to use a pressure pump and remove the caravan submersible pump is so that I can pump drinking water through a carbon filter.

Well this pump does work well but its simply too noisy. Going to have to look at alternatives.
It can stay installed as a standby but its simply inconsiderate to use this pump in a public camping area.
It really is that noisy and its installed on sound damping material in a "box" too!

You could try the Shurflo I think 2190 as a lower pressure 5.5L/min pump. Not sure about the noise but pressure is good. I have seen it at Silver lakes Camp world. Cost about R1300.

It is also a pump that can suck water so no need to bleed.

May be users can comment on the noise.

I am going through this exact exercise now.
I need to go from trickle to flow, not high pressure, just better flow rate. 5.5l/min sounds good. I assume this is a 12v pump?
