Kitchen is starting to take shape. Still have a lot of fine tuning and finishing to do though.

Roughly fit the doors today. I am considering building the doors using aluminium square tubing and then covering them with the fibreglass sheets due to the plywood not being straight enough. However, I can make these work if needed.

Anton you must slow down, or else it will be finished before the Lockdown ends, and then what you going to do!

    Looking good!

    Day 2 of lockdown.

Realised today that I should've bought a table saw a long time ago. I've forgotten how much easier it is to get accurate cuts for something like this.

Almost finished with the kitchen area. Created this as a modular type unit, each unit glued and screwed. However the units are only screwed in for now, will glue them at a later stage once I'm happy that everything fits and works as I want. Will then do a little bit of cable management as well.

Added fibreglass to the top of the lids of the side compartments. This helps finish it off, as well as providing a tougher surface to put coffee cups, etc on. Will finish of the frond edges with a piece of aluminium angle and the rear against the walls with a pine quadrant once we can go shopping again.

Started playing around with sliding doors for the top cupboards. Unfortunately I have to wait until after the lockdown to buy the runners I'm going to need. Have a short little cut off to test it out. The gaps that are visible at the top will of course disappear once the runners are in place.

Running out of things to do now.

Difficult to say at the moment. And it's bugging the hell out of me not knowing. The moment I have the outside skin on (and windows in) I'm taking it to the local silo/grain storage facility to have it weighed.

I'm sure it will be heavier than I originally planned but, then again, it's also quite a bit larger than my original plan.

I took out a LOT of weight from the original trailer, solid blocks of steel used as counterweights at the back to help it tip (they were 15kg each), the tread for the golf cart to drive on (those were 19kg each x 4) and the extra railings, ramps, valence for number plate and lights, etc. Put some weight back in widening the trailer, but maybe 15% of what I took out. Looking at what went out and in again, and the tare of the trailer, I reckon it was under 180kg before I started building.

I didn't weigh much of the stuff as I put them on, but most things like the plywood and other woods I have a baseline with regards to weight. The only wild card was the fibreglass sheeting, which is heavier than I was originally expecting, not super heavy, but not light.

I am hoping for under 450kg when all is said and done. But whichever way it goes...I'm into this project too far now. Pushing through and using it now irrelevant of the what the end product weighs. The size is actually slightly more important to me than the final weight.
