The interesting thing for me is in the LMP non factory teams and the two GT classes. For any car and team to finished the 24 hour is something very special. I've been involved in some endurance racing with bikes and cars and its something special to finish such a long race.

Agreed. Just hearing that howling Porsche 6 cyl engine screaming, makes you wonder how it last 24 hours. That must be the equivalent of at least 500,000km in a road car.

Hopefully the new class of cars next year will mix things up a bit.

Ja, LMP1 is a non-event this year but the rest isn't too bad.

I hear they are introducing Hydrogen powered vehicles next year.

Sounds like they are road cars, minimum of 20 cars manufactured in 2 years.

A few manufacturers have already signed up.

As usual, I found the race fascinating:
A few thoughts, Ferrari & Porsche ran 8000 rpm, all the time, American cars ran 6000 rpm - for 24 hours !
Corvettes might have finally won, but for bad luck?
The engineering skills to produce these drive trains is incredible. imho
The clever brake design allowing changes of pads/rotors in minutes etc. etc.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, regardless of the results

What do you tell your pit crew after they changed the wrong flat tyre 2 laps from the end after 24hrs while you are leading the race? Still good for the Alonso team for winning even if it was boring with no other teams in the top claas.

I enjoyed this year’s race. Watched most of it. Dozed off through sat night off and on but saw most of it still.

Rooted quite strongly for the 911 in GTE Pro and enjoyed the battle with the 488 and corvette for most of the race.
