To all the followers of this thread that are only thinking of buying a Metalian, be it the new Genie or an existing model, stop thinking and buy one now! They are amazing trailers and the service you get from Heinz, Sky and the rest of the Metalian team is better than amazing.
Everyone at Metalian goes out of their way to uphold the reputation they have worked so hard to achieve.

Thanks again Heinz for a great product and may the new Genie exceed everyone's expectations.

This is awesome Heinz...Thanks for listening to our problems..

This is exactly what I was taking about. Light weight expedition, go anywhere trailer that doesn't stress up the engine and fuel bill; Not to mention the initial "INSANE" cost. I hope this will be an eye opener for other manufactures. If they keep ignoring it, I don't think they will last long in this market.

As for name of the trailer, Genie suites better than B2B.

Hi Heinz, you may recall I have one of the first mini's and have a nose cone fitted. I find that if you have the fridge in the trailer and the nose cone has for example full gas bottles, ground sheet etc, the weight in the drawbar is high, I am sure it would be well beyond the legal limit. I was concerned enough that I moved my fridge to my car to try and lower the weight in front of the trailer axle. I'd recommend that any add on go behind the axle (if possible) - I have a roofrack fitted and carry 3 ammo boxes with spares, braai stuff and recovery gear right at the back to try and move weight to the rear.

Yes I recall, you were one of the launch buyers.

Thank you for your feedback. This was the case on the original mini, and is the reason why this was redesigned 100 mm longer. The new model was renamed the Bowhunter and does not have this front weight issue when it is correctly packed. (At the time I was "forcing" the design within parameters I had set for myself.)

The Genie is a fair amount lighter, built between the mudguards, and the drawbar is extendable. Essentially the nosecone is where the original fridge front door was - because this is omitted in the Genie. But you are correct that when pimping out the builds, that nose weight is something to take note of.

The trailer has undergone a re-design. The second proto will go to powder coating on Wednesday and should look a lot more appealing. Homologation follows and then production.

What if we want to be one of the first I think this is going to be the ideal trailer for many people out there who want a trailer to customize as their own and take everywhere with them.

Let's have a cyber launch Heinz.
Give us a date and time, then we all log on here with a cold beer and watch you load lot's of pics from every angle and a video.
That way you get to have a mega launch to all your prospective customers and it costs you zero. You can even invite the press to the cyber launch.
