I would like to know how long it would take me to do the 4x4 Quiver tree canyon eco trail?

Hi Johann - Safari 4x4 have just shown this trail on Kyknet. The canyon is spectacular to say the least. Safari 4x4 may have a copy of the video for sale. It covers most of the 4x4 routes along the Orange River. Cheers

Don't miss it and don't be in a rush. Take a couple of beers and a picnic basket along.

Thanks, I followed the Safari 4x4 programme yesterday. We are staying at Richtersveld Wilderness camp (close to Vioolsdriff) for a few days in December. We are planning to do a few day trips so I'm interested in the traveling time as I would also like to incorporate the trail with a visit to the Fish River canyon but need to know if time will allow us doing the trail (with a few stops) an then still be able to visit the Road house at the Fish River canyon and be back at camp in one day or do I need to do two separate trips.

I drove the routes in the area in Dec 2005.

The German Outpost route is about 60km in length and the Quiver Tree route about 35km. We did both in 5 hours, but had a very relaxed drive on both occasions with lots of time outside the vehicle taking photo's, having picnic lunch, etc

If I remember correctly, we got the permits at Norotshama.
