    Default Paj 3.8 v6 2005 lwb

Hi guys, I'm interested in a Paj 3.8 V6 2005 LWB. Is there anything I should check and is this a good vehicle? What is the power rating?

Those engines require plugs and cambelt every 90k km. Check the service history to get a feel for when the next replacement is due, and budget for nothing under R10k.

    Lovely cars. I had a 2006 Gen3 3.8V6 SWB and replaced it with a Gen 4 3.8V6 LWB.

They are thirsty and if you tow heavy, more so.

Stranger has a Gen3 3.8V6. Chat to him for up to date impressions.

It isn't the MIVEC, so I think it is in the region of 155kw. I'll see if Google can help us.

Wiki suggests 149kw for non-MIVEC and 184kw for the later Gen4 MIVEC motor

I believe that get spares for this vehicle is difficult. The starter, alternator etc.?

I can't comment. I owned seven Pajeros over a span of 21 years and never had to replace a failed component.

Never had a problem getting any spares for mine, not that I have needed much.

That 3.8i can really kick butt when needed, towing or not. It's a beast.

Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.

Iíve replaced a fair amount of components. You will not have any issues getting hold of spares. Itís what you pay for them that might be an issue.

Itís a super vehicle. Still own mine. Iím having a tough time letting go.

Repalce cambelt, and also have the butterly plates screws checked out in the intake manifolt. They eat pistons
