Now that she is all serviced up - thanks Stephan, S&G, roadworthy done and registration complete, I can now look at doing the minor things with time. So all in all I think just about 8k spent to complete the process.

    Next up:
    1. Change the radio
I've been scrolling on ebay for an RNS510. Refurb ones could be had for about 6k. Issue is one would still need to get the bluetooth module etc. Now I am told the Sony AX-3000 is the best headunit with carplay, rearview cam etc. Now I am not much of a music person and have never used carplay before, those who use it swear by it.

Whole setup would cost around 11k (headunit, bluetooth module, rearview cam), does this look like a viable option or waste of money?

    2. Get the roof rails and grill wrapped in silver again as the original one is peeling (anyone know where I can get this done?).

    3. Find R-line rims and put on new tires - still deciding which tires are best to go with.

    4. The wooden trim steering wheel feels a bit slippery, the guys at Handelstraat do not do steering wheels, so have to find a place that does leather steering wheels.

oh, one more thing ....me and 7 year old are off to the Kalahari next week . - Boys trip before we head off to the farm for a few days.

Some people love the wooden wheel so maybe see if somebody won't swop you rather than ruin that.

So with just over 2 years of ownership, the V10 has taken good care of me (been a bit heavy on the wallet too but I would not exchange it for anything).

I have driven it across Southern Africa in those two years (Swaziland, Botswana, Namibia, Angola and Zambia - will tick off Lesotho soon).

It is quite a heavy for town usage and the A8 just feels low on the ground so I started looking around for a next gen V8 and after many months of looking, I found one that was well priced and well looked after. It was a private deal but the seller was such gentlemen - agreed on an amount within 15 minutes and a few days I had taken delivery.

It has been two months of pure driving pleasure - even the wife who gives side comments of "why don't you just open a dealership" has been loving the car.

So far the impression is, albeit it has been limited to Sandton commute and school run - the V8 is very frugal compared to the V10 and the Audi. It feels and drive like hot-hatch, very nimble which is nice for town driving. I have not had an opportunity to tow with it yet to compare. The one thing I love about the V10 is it "holds" the road, feels bullet proof and invincible - only other car I felt like that was the Cruiser.

I am planning to drive down to Bloem next weekend to buy some farm implements and can't decide whether to take V10 or the smaller one.
