    Default December Holiday Planning

Crazy how this year is flying. So itís time to nail down the final planning and this year we are heading for Cederberg. Super excited, Iíve always had this stunning place on my bucket list.

    So the plan so far:

    Dec 21 Close shop Pta
Dec 22 Head out early, stay over Motswedi, Makala.
    Dec23-29 Algeria Camping Cederberg
Dec 29 - Jan2 Planned to go to Secret Falls but we hear its bot possible with a Conqueror Commander?
    Jan 2-Jan6. ? Any suggestions
Jan 7 head home via Douglas

What would you recommend for someone that has not been in this neck of the woods?

We like something different, prefer something more private.

Our rig is a LR4 with a Conqueror Commander.

    Thanks in advance.

Terwyl julle by Algeria kamp moet julle 'n dagroete reg rondom die cederberge doen.

Just for interest, what type of animals are around camp - farm or wild?

Beide. Perde skape wilde haase. Ons het ook Takbokke gesien. Dan was daar bobejane ook en vir die eerste keer het ek bobbejane gesien wat nie kwaad doen nie.

Algeria is a great spot...we spent 4 nights there practically alone...other nice campsites in the immediate area are Jamaka and Sanddrif...

Would you guys recommend we stay here n the Cederberg area i.e. is there enough to keep you busy for 16 odd days or should we move on to a new area?

    Any advice please.

That is a very busy time of the year in the WC. Anywhere and everywhere will be a madhouse. Staying in and around the Cederberg area is not a bad option with day drives to some spots outside maybe an option.

We normally don't go anywhere in Dec/Jan because like Francois said "anywhere and everywhere will be a madhouse".

We like Cederberg Oasis since it feels more private. Beetle camp has a private ablution block (at R250 per night it doesn't break the bank and keeps my three females happy). We refer to it as "lui kamp", because it comes with a kitted-out kitchen area.

Stadsaalgrotte is relatively close by and a nice besienswaardigheid. Iirc it is run by Cape Nature, so an all-parks wildcard will get you free entry. I can really recommend Oasis' breakfast.
