Hi, i might be able to help but i need some more info, first of all do you mean that the disabled alarm started to work on it's own i mean it yells with the sounder and flashing hazards or it's just immobilised without sound and doesnt crank while the red LED is on? ... also when you lock then turn the key to unlock do all the doors unlock then? was a tester plugged in before that?

In this case as long as you don't get the EKA sequence start audible warning when you turn the key to UNLOCK unfortunately you have to replace BCU and for that complex programming is needed with dedicated diagnostic tool.

Ok thanks will try and find a replacement bcu
Regarding replacing the bcu will it be just plug and play and maybe just the fobs that will need to be re added

There will be a need for some Nanocom or similar input. The BCM will need the vehicle VIN added to it as well as programming the fobs into the new BCM.

If you are still stuck at the end of June ( I hope not, for your sake), I will be back in SA and can plug you into my Nanocom.
    Cheers,

I respect your helpfulness but it seems that you are a bit confused about the bolded part or i misunderstood you, i'm sorry... here it's about a Discovery 2 which has a BCU(not BCM) and no need for any VIN thing just fob programmin,. enhancement's instrument settings and make the engine ECU lear the security code.. Good luck

You can fit second hand BCU but as i said in post #4 a dedicated diagnostic tool for D2 is compulsory cos it needs complex programming made by someone who know what's about. If the approach is not the proper one you can end up with it immobilised then you can bin it or pay more than it's price to be unlocked by specialists

If you are up to it, you can use my Nanocom to do the job.
Read up on it and give me a shout next week. I get home from work on Saturday.

    Question on EKA codes.

Was given a code of 7047 by Land Rover as the EKA code for my Disco 2. Does 0 mean I have to turn the key 10x times?

When turning the key the horn starts beeping at certain turns.

7074 can't be a correct EKA code, .. are you sure it's not D ? then it would be 13 as EKA numbers can be in hexadecimal system too, 0 alone is not an option, for 10 must be 10 or A.

Not sure. This is number given by LR. Will call another dealer and see if it is the same.

    Thanks

Aha! First code was the Key code. Got a code now with Numbers and Letters. Guy from LR explained what number the letters represent as well.

Now to practice on keying in the code.....
