    Default Wrnd

Hi. I’m interested in the possibility of buying a WRND dc to dc auxiliary battery charger but have had no success in contacting the company. I have tried calling them a number of times but each time the call goes to message, I have tried emailing them more than once but received no response and I have tried using their “contact us” facility in their web site, again with no response. Can anyone help me to get in touch with the company or advise me on what might be going on with them. Regards, Don

Companies like this should not be supported purely because of the levels of service they offer especially when the buyer must resort to a thread like this asking for help.

With the exception of the service offered by 4x4 direct which is well above par, there are other brands of dc/dc chargers available. Have a look at HCDP, NL etc...

I have never had any issues contacting Wean from WRND. Phoned him for advise and emailed him. He always answers calls and emails.

I installed a WRND charger, charge seems fine, but when the vehicle is switched off, the WRND Red led comes on, but every now and again switches to blue.. Why does it do that? Normal?

"If the engine is turned off charging will stop once the primary battery settles at 12.8V. "

The red light stays on for a couple of minutes, after the vehicle is switched off, untill the battery's volts setels.

The blue light should not come on.

If a 220v charger is connected to the main battery the blue light might come on.

What is the voltage of your main battery after switching off the car?

Thanks, found the problem child, I connected the mode wire (extended wire) onto car bat, must not connect that wire unless your vehicle charges your primary batt at less than 13.5v.

I put a switch in that wire. It gives me the option to override the voltage cutout should I wish to.

Just a quick one, your fridge or fridges, did you connect it to the auxillary battery ports as well, or directly to the batteries??

I connected my two fridges to the aux batt ports on the WRND, dunno if that is good or bad??

Yes, run the fridge(s) through the WRND, instead of directly from the battery.

    Thank you Sand

    Sorry for all the questions..

I have noticed, if I put the main battery on charge, the charge also goes "through" to the auxillary batts, is that normal?

Is this good or bad? Should one install a cut off switch between the main batt and the WRND?

Yes, its normal. When the primary battery is charged without disconnecting from the WRND, it will charge the secondary battery. Nothing wrong with that, unless you specifically do not want to (e.g. to get the primary battery charged up quicker).

I wouldn’t install a switch between the two batteries. The WRND takes care of that, unless you have specific reason, as stated above. Assuming you have appropriate fuses etc in place.
