    I differ from this quote

In my previous vehicle i had the D 250 S CTEK witch gave me joy and no trouble.

With this vehicle i have build my own installation with the WRND charger and have to say it`s working very well and i have the same joy from this system that i had from the 3 times more expensive CTEK system
I have just returned from a two week Kgalagadi/Namibia trip and is pleased with my WRND system.

I have to agree, I have two WRND chargers and they work great, have never had a issue with them and no complaints.

Both are used with 12v from the vehicle as well as solar, was the main reason for going with the WRND

Excelent product at a good price.

[QUOTE=DC Polokwane;4294481]Is this the fuse that you've put in on the positive wire close to the battery? or the one on the charger?

The positive wire could be damaged and is somehow making a short by touching the chassis.

The charger could be damaged? All their products is tested before shipping so is unlikely but not impossible.

Double check all your wiring, make double sure all positive/negative connections are correct.

Do you have a multi-meter? Check all in and outgoing voltages on your system.[/QUOTE

It is the fuse on the WRND, incomming power, measuring 13.47 volts

As soon as I connect the aux batts to the system, it blows the main 30amp fuse on the unit.

Have you tested the health of your auxiliary battery?

If your connections are as per post #38 sans the ignition wire then the unit should work.

Remove the fridge and test, if it still blows the fuse then you might have a faulty unit or you might have damaged the unit with a incorrect connections?

I disconnected all wires from the unit, then started adding the main power source, with the new fuse, motor running, power comes on the unit, red light, connect aux batts, neg, then pos, bang the fuse goes.

Above you say aux batts (plural). Are they wired in series or parrallel?

So tested all, charging, aux batts, fridges, and main batt, no issues what so ever.

Also installed a little battery volt, ah and watt meter, "nifty" little gadget..

Ok. so please see attached a pic of my deurmekaar installation, but it works.

So, main feed comes in from the alternator, connected to "CAR" on the DC_DC.

Then the aux Batts ( I have two 102"s connected in parrallel) are connected to the "Aux" batt connection going to the Brad Harrisons marked AUX Batt connection.

PV is connected to my solar panel as you can see the green light is burning, meaning solar is charging

The Battery Protector, to get power, is connected directly to one of the aux batts, with a 10amp fuse.

The fridges get their power via the the two terminals on the Battery Protector.

And then I connected the Bat Volt, AH watt meter in the "fridge line" showing me amps etc drawn by the fridges.

Oh yes, I have left the cut off switch, remember I installed it to prevent any drain from the main batt in the engine compartment, but since I have a new unit, this is not a problem any more.

So yes, it looks messy, will one day tidy it all up, but for now, it is fine..it works and I am happy.
